The La Union Medical Center (LUMC) was accorded with Siglat Award by the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration Regional Welfare Office I (OWWA RWOI) during its 27th Migrant Workers Day (Araw ng Pasasalamat) on June 20, 2022 at the J & V Hotel and Resort, San Fernando City, La Union.

Jennifer G. Galban and Chrishell A. Agmeyeng, Social Welfare Officers of the LUMC accepted said award on behalf of Dr. Glenn Ernest M. Fonbuena, Chief Executive Officer IV of LUMC.

The OWWA Siglat Award is given to service providers that demonstrate prompt service to OWWA’s internal and external clients by making sure that quick responses are made available and delivered to the latter even on a short notice without compromising the quality of their (service providers) work.

Galban said in an exit interview that the LUMC management is elated about receiving such meaningful recognition and the award is an attestation as to how LUMC, being one of OWWA’s social partners stays true to its commitment in making healthcare readily accessible for everyone, with or without the presence of an emergency health crisis like the COVID-19 pandemic.

LUMC received said award alongside with its fellow awardees as follow: Ilocos Training and Regional Medical Center (ITRMC), La Union Medical Diagnostic Center and Hospital, Inc., LUPA Transport MPC, Ranchez Express, Regional Medical Center and Dagupan Doctors Villafor Memorial Hospital, both in Dagupan City, Mariano Marcos Memorial Hospital University of the Philippines Baguio City Campus and TESDA (Technical Education and Skills Development Authority) Regional Office Region 1.
