As part of the celebration of the Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprise Development Week, the Local Economic Enterprise and Investment Promotions Unit (LEEIPU) of La Union conducted a two-day Trade Bazaar for the local Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) from the province on July 22-23, 2022 in front of the La Union Agri-Tourism Building (PasaLUbong Center), City of San Fernando, La Union.

Aligned with the MSME Development Month theme, RISE (Resilient, Innovative, Sustainable and Empowered) MSMEs in the Digital Economy, the said event was more than just a platform to promote and market local MSME products, it highlights the innovative market-based approaches of these MSMEs which helped them sell their products and recover loss during the pandemic.

The opening and ribbon cutting ceremony on July 22, 2022 was attended by Executive Assistant Justito Orros III, Sangguniang Panlalawigan Board Member (BM) Henry B. Balbin, La Union MSME Development Council President Lina Flor G. Hizon, and LEEIPU Unit Head Charito C. Dator.

In her message delivered by EA Orros, Gov. Raphaelle Veronica โ€œRafyโ€ Ortega-David underscored how the MSMEs played a very significant role in the economic recovery of the province. She even praised them for their innovative ideas that has generated jobs for other kaprobinsiaan. On the other hand, BM Balbin, Chairman of the Committee on Trade, Commerce and Industry, also shared how he himself developed as a self-made entrepreneur.

The Bazaar was a testament of #LaUnionPROBINSYAnihan between government and private stakeholders and the Provincial Government of La Union believes that such strong partnership is essential to the success, growth, and development of MSMEs in the province.
