Boosting the promotion of employment opportunities in the Province, the Provincial Government of La Union through the Public Employment Service Office jumpstarted the La Union Probinsyanihan Jobs Fair with hundreds of applicants availed thousands of job vacancies at the Father Burgos Gymnasium, Saint Louis College, Carlatan, City of San Fernando, La Union on September 29, 2022 in celebration of the 122nd Civil Service Month.
Hon. Gov. Raphaelle Veronica Ortega-David together with Department of Labor & Employment โ Regional Office I Director Atty. Evelyn R. Ramos, and The Department of Migrant Workers โ Region I Officer-in-Charge Chief Mr. Ferdinand Jose Merrera graced the event.
In a message delivered by Gov. Raphaelle Veronica โRafyโ Ortega-David, she conveyed her message of support to the jobseekers with emphasis on People-centered and driven governance. โAll of these, what are we are doing right now, para po sa mga pamilya po natin. Sila po yung nagbibigay inspirasyon at lakas po para makamit po natin ang ating mga pinapangarap po natin sa buhay. At syempre, balik po tayo sa pagbibigay ng mga opportunities para mas marami pa pong trabaho ang magawa po natin para sa bawat kaprobinsyaan po natin dito po sa La Union.โ The lady Governor said.
A total of 3,160 job vacancies both for local and overseas employment were recorded for the La Union Probinsyanihan Jobs Fair. 21 lucky jobseekers were declared Hired on the Spot (HOTS) from the pool of 371 registered jobseekers. There will be a follow-up with the employers to get the job-placement result.
Gov. Rafy and Regional Director Ramos expressed their sincere gratitude to DOLE, the Department of Migrant Workers, and Saint Louis College as the dynamic partners of PGLU in making this event possible.
For the month of September 2022, PESO-La Union was able to render technical assistance to the municipality of Luna, La Union and City of San Fernando, La Union in conducting their job fairs.
Responding to the call of #LaUnionPROBINSYAnihan, The PGLU and its dynamic partners for economic recovery will uphold its strong commitment of providing continuous facilitation of employment opportunities for our kaprobinsiaan to boost local economy which is essential in attaining the vision for La Union to become the Heart of Agri-Tourism in Northern Luzon by 2025.
