A total of 343 jobseekers from Luna, La Union and nearby municipalities joined the recently conducted Jobs Fair held on September 8, 2022 at Luna Sports Complex in Barangay Salcedo.
Dubbed as Luna Job Fair 2022, the said one-day job fair was organized by the Municipal Government of Luna through their Public Employment Service Office (PESO) and Provincial PESO in view of the 122nd Civil Service Month Celebration.
2,439 local and overseas employment were offered by 20 participating employers and agencies from La Union, Baguio, Pangasinan, Tarlac, Pampanga, Laguna, Cavite and Metro Manila.
Out of the 343 jobseekers, 10 of them were hired-on-the-spot while others were assessed and referred for further interview with their potential employers.
The regional and provincial offices of the Department of Labor and Employment, Overseas Workers Welfare Administration, Philippine Overseas Employment Administration and Social Security System also rendered their services and assistance to the jobseekers.
Luna Mayor Gary N. Pinzon and Vice Mayor Romeo L. Resurreccion were also present to show support to their constituents by sharing some messages. After giving gratitude to the jobseekers and participating employers, he also acknowledged the Provincial Government of La Union headed by Gov. Raphaelle Veronica โRafyโ Ortega-David and the Provincial PESO for their full support and commitment in providing gainful employment opportunities for the kaprobinsiaan in Luna.
PESO-La Union will continue to promote #LaUnionProbinsyanihan to seek better avenues in building a stronger connection with the different Local Government Units, private establishments, business owners and overseas recruitment agencies in providing gainful employment opportunities for our kaprobinsiaan.
