Different Environmental Groups and Volunteers showcased their PROBINSYAnihan in protecting and preserving nature through planting 300 mangrove seedlings during the mangrove planting activity in Paratong Norte, Bangar, La Union on August 11, 2022.

This was made possible with the active partnership of the Provincial Government - Environment and Natural Resources Office (PG-ENRO), Coastal Underwater Resource Management Actions, Don Mariano Marcos Memorial State University (DMMMSU) and the Local Government Unit (LGU) of Bangar, La Union.

Among the volunteers were DMMMSU Environmental Science Students, Bangar residents and Australia based Young Environmental Advocate Ms. Sophia Bagatsing.

The mangrove planting activity is part of the wide-ranging plan of the Provincial Government to rehabilitate and develop mangrove areas in the province as part of the Project TREE or Taking Responsibility for the ELYUโ€™s Environment.

Paratong Norte is one of the coastal areas of Bangar which is at risk of flooding under extreme conditions, hence, the need for protection and development through mangrove planting as these natural resources will help mitigate the adverse effect of Climate change.

The Provincial Government of La Union continues to call for #LaUnionPROBINSYAnihan in an effort to protect and save our environment for a cleaner, greener and #StrongerLaUnion, a province worth living in.
