Each of The LU topnotchers were awarded with individual SP Resolution and check that served as their cash incentives and the amount of which is based on their ranking as provided under SP Ordinance No. 103-2015.

Vice-Governor Mario C. Ortega said in his message that the cash incentive is a gesture of gratitude of the officialdom of the province for bringing honor and pride and through their remarkable achievements, La Union is made known to the world not only of its beautiful places but also its intelligent people.

Likewise, the SP has passed during their previous session commendatory and congratulatory resolution to Dr. Monica E. Gacayan of the City of San Fernando and Dr. Denver G. Frigillana of Aringay, who ranked 5th and 7th, respectively on the Veterinarian Licensure Examination.

It is to note that national licensure examinations for the various fields of study were purposely to determine the cognitive competencies of graduates in their respective degree courses while ensuring the standards of quality education especially in tertiary education. These feats by the LU topnotchers proved that even though they came from the provinces, and whose educational foundations are from schools of the province, their level of intelligence and competencies are at par with national caliber and standards and validation of quality education in these schools, thus worthy of commendation, recognition, inspiration and of incentives.
