Gov. Raphaelle Veronica โRafyโ Ortega-David honors 10 Senior Citizen awardees during the Provincial Celebration of the 2022 Elderly Filipino Week with the theme โOlder Persons: Resilience in Nation Buildingโ on October 17, 2022 at the Municipal Covered Court, Bauang, La Union.
The highlight of the celebration is the 2nd Awarding Ceremony of the โSangapulo a Naisangsangayan a Nataengan ti Probinsiya ti La Unionโ pursuant to Sangguniang Panlalawigan Ordinance No. 178-2019 in recognition of acts or contributions among unsung bonafide resident elders of the province who have made a difference in the lives of many and have given exemplary service from the time they became Senior Citizens.
The ten awardees are Dr. Filomena Gloria J. Subala (City of San Fernando), Ms. Corazon O. Arellano (Santol), Dr, Rebecca C. Pilar (Luna), Mr. Errol L. Abrew (Caba), Prtr. Gracia P. Rosario (Bauang), Mr. Renato D. Pang-ot (Sudipen), Ms. Petronila D. Imperial (Bangar), Mr. Romeo O. Milo, Sr. (Rosario) and Ms. Gloria R. Orpia (Aringay).
In her inspiring message, Gov. Rafy commended the ten awardees and all senior citizens for their big contribution in nation building and their desire to help the younger generations. She further encouraged the senior citizen sector to make their voice louder as she challenged โma pa Senior, Kabataan o ano Ka man, basta kasama Ka sa Stronger La Union โ a province we live in! Lahat ina-anyayahan makisama at makiisa sa La Union KaProbinsiyanihan para makamit ang vision: To be the Heart of Agritourism by 2025โ.
In their message of inspiration, Vice Governor Mario Eduardo C. Ortega represented by Mr. Denver Badua, Mayor Eulogio Clarence Martin P. De Guzman III, Provincial Social Welfare and Development Officer Ranilo P. Ipac and Provincial Federation of Senior Citizensโ Association of La Union President Retired Judge Joven F. Costales expressed their appreciation to the awardees and SC participants.
The Provincial Government of La Union continues to empower the people of La Union, including the Senior Citizens, and enjoin them in #LaUnionPROBINSYAnihan as we walk towards the realization of the provinceโs vision to be the Heart of Agri-Tourism in Northern Luzon by 2025.
