Empowering the Civil Society Organizations further, Gov. Raphaelle Veronica โRafyโ Ortega-David acknowledged the La Union Coalition of Civil Society Organization (LUCCSO), Inc. for their outstanding accomplishments and achievements for the past years and for extending relentless services and assistance as they convened on September 15, 2022 at Hotel Ariana, Paringao, Bauang, La Union to elect their new set of officers who will serve for a term of three years.
The newly elected LUCCSO officers for CY 2022-2025 are Mr. Renato Segundino O. Hernandez of Taberna Farmers and Livestock Growers Association as Chairperson; Mr. Randy Christoph A. Berner of Chamber of Real Estate and Builders Association Inc. (La Union Chapter) as Vice-Chairperson; Mr. Alain Sherwin S. Go of Rotary Club of San Fernando (LU) Inc. as Secretary; Ms. Librada B. Obiano of Philippine Institute of Certified Public Accountants-La Union Chapter of Treasurer; Mr. Anacleto M. Zamoranos of the Gift of Love for Community Development Foundation, Inc. as Auditor; Mr. Ronald S. Dy of the Filipino-Chinese Chamber of Commerce and Industry of La Union, Inc. as Business Manager; and Mr. Romeo H. Austria of Galongen-Maragayap Farmers Association of Bacnotan, La Union Inc. as Press Relations Officer.
โI would like to commend our very active CSOs for a job well doneโฆAgyamanak la unay iti agtultuloy a panangipaayyo iti naimpusoan a serbisio para iti La Union,โ expressed Gov. Rafy to the members of LUCCSO.
The said election was one of the agenda of the Kapit-Bisig: Election of Civil Society Organization (CSO) Officers and Selection of Representatives of the different Local Special Bodies in the Provincial Government of La Union initiated by the Office of the Provincial Planning and Development Coordinator, being the CSO Desk of the PGLU, with the assistance of the Department of the Interior and Local Government โ La Union Provincial Office.
During the said election, a total of 106 accredited CSOs of La Union representing various sectors such as farmers, fisherfolks, business, faith-based, indigenous peoples, persons with disabilities, professional groups, cooperatives, civic organizations, environment, women, senior citizens, education, among others, joined to exercise their right to choose their leaders in realizing their vision to be a fulfilled party of the PGLU in bringing about people of La Union living in a just, peaceful and loving communities with hope and dignity and to be united in diversity and empowered to achieve their universal rights to meet their basic needs and much improved quality of life.
A native of Taberna, Bauang, La Union, LUCCSO Chairperson Mr. Hernandez enjoined all CSOs to join hands and unite in order to help the Province realize its vision to be the Heart of Agri-Tourism in Northern Luzon by 2025 and the P.U.S.O agenda of the new administration.
First chaired by Ms. Vini Nola A. Ortega when it was established in September 2019, the LUCCSO is composed of all accredited Civil Society Organizations in the Province of La Union and serves as the Peopleโs Council and Provincial Multi-Sectoral Peopleโs Assembly in the Province.
Also present during the said activity were DILG-La Union Provincial Director Reggie R. Colisao, Board Member Ruperto A. Rillera, Jr. and Board Member Maria Rosario Eufrosina โCharyโ Nisce.
