Amid the call to revive the enforcement of death penalty in the country, First District Board Member Hon. Jennifer C. Mosuela-Fernandez have made an action and proposed a resolution opposing the re-imposition of death penalty during her privilege speech of the 23rd Sangguniang Panlalawigan of the Province of La Union held at the Speaker Pro-Tempore Francisco I. Ortega Legislative Building and Session Hall, Provincial Capitol, City of San Fernando, La Union.

BM Mosuela-Fernandez pointed out, that the best way to lessen or if not to eradicate heinous crimes is to strengthen the justice system. The legislator also looks forward for an efficient enforcement of ordinance on the curfew of minors, strengthened police visibility in every area of concerns and the implementation of ordinance on CCTV as these methods could aid in solving the crime in the province and in the country.

However, BM Mosuela-Fernandez requested that her privilege speech be referred to her committee for further deliberations and hopes that they will come up with one stand in opposing the re-imposition of Death Penalty.
