Different business establishments, institutions, residences and public and private transportation in the Province of La Union also showed their support and took pride in displaying the national flag as they paid respect and honor to the countryโ€™s symbol of national freedom, patriotism and love for our beloved country.

Pursuant to Presidential Proclamation No. 374, May 28 was declared as National Flag Day to commemorate the anniversary of the Battle at Alapan, Imus, Cavite in 1898. On May 23, 1994, by virtue of Executive Order No. 179 the observance of National Flag Day was extended until June 12.

The Provincial Government enjoins all Kaprobinsiaan to display the national flag to pay homage to the symbol of national sovereignty and solidarity. In line with the celebration, the Province remembers and recognizes the contribution of Philippine heroes who fought for sovereignty as well as the modern heroes including frontliners who continually ensure the safety of everyone against CoviD-19.

PGLU will continue to strengthen its advocacy and effort in promoting nationalism and patriotism in the Province towards fostering a resounding unity in the whole country.
