The Provincial Government of La Union, under the leadership of Gov. Raphaelle Veronica "Rafy" Ortega-David, through the Provincial Health Office (PHO), continues to bring proper healthcare assistance to far-flung areas in the province by conducting the Geographically Isolated and Disadvantaged Areas (GIDA) Medical and Dental Mission which started on January 9, 2023, in Cabalayangan, Bauang.

PHO, headed by Dr. Eduardo S. Posadas, together with the PHO medical and dental team, designed this program to help those who are located in areas far from hospitals and other medical-related necessities; a program to provide kaprobinsiaan easier medical and healthcare accessibility.

Since its first implementation, the GIDA Medical and Dental Mission already provided a total of 2,601 Medical Services; 2,398 Laboratory Services; and 3,561 Dental Services. PGLU employees and volunteers alike deemed this as a successful program as it resonated with the "U" agenda under P.U.S.O agenda β€” Universal Access to Basic needs.

Gov. Rafy committed to providing β€œAccessible Health to Everyone," encouraging PGLU, with the help of Municipal Local Government Units, to continuously reach out to the people and directly help them. This program served as a manifestation of continuously upholding the call for #LaUnionPROBINSYAnihan and an encouragement for all kaprobinsiaan to unite and extend a helping hand to fellow provincemates in need.
