Symbolizing 173 strong years of La Union's institution as a province, 173 seedlings were planted during the simultaneous provincewide tree-planting activity on March 10, 2023.

In support to the call of Gov. Raphaelle Veronica "Rafy" Ortega-David's call for Love and Unity this #AyatFest 2023, the Provincial Government -Environment and Natural Resources Office mobilized all of the province's Local Government Units to plant and grow 173 seedlings of several tree species in their chosen planting site.

456 Ylang-ylang trees were planted along municipal roads and solid waste management facility (landfill) of some LGUs. This is also a way to strengthen the implementation of Provincial Ordinance No. 007-2007 stating that Ylang-ylang is the official environment and beautification tree of the province of La Union.

Meanwhile, 3004 seedlings of various forest and fruit-bearing tree species such as Avocado, Jackfruit, Cacao, Coffee, Chestnut, Lanzones, Rambutan; and Mangroves were also planted in the said activity.
