Leveraging cooperative marketing and governance partnership, the Province of La Union and the Province of Ilocos Norte forged partnership for the second time. To kick-off, The La Union Provincial Tourism Office headed by Mr. Arthur S. Cortez Jr. alongside La Union tourism stakeholders joined the IโM IN LUV Travel and Trade Fair at Robinson Place, San Nicolas, Ilocos Norte last September 9 โ 11, 2022 that aims to showcase the products, rich culture and timeless heritage of the two powerhouse provinces in the north.
The opening and ribbon cutting of the said Travel and Trade Fair was attended by Ilocos Norte Vice Governor Cecilia Araneta Marcos, Philippine Councilorsโ League President Handy Lao, Ilocos Norte Provincial Board Members, Ilocos Norte Provincial Tourism Office headed by Mr. Ianree B. Raquel, Travel and Tour Operators, and Local MSMEs of Ilocos Norte and La Union. Thereafter, on September 11, 2022, a ceremonial Signing of the Memorandum of Understanding was attended by Ilocos Norte Governor Matthew Marcos Manotoc and La Union Governor Raphaelle Veronica โRafyโ Ortega-David alongside the respective Tourism Officers of La Union and Ilocos Norte.
The governance partnership will be done through collaborative projects, print media and online promotions, tourism expo, and the like. This shall expand the Provincial Government of La Unionโs network of markets and clientele in the Ilocos Region through an โin-marketโ partner. It shall also reinforce Local Government collaboration and establish a healthy exchange of best practices along tourism promotions.
The collaborative efforts from the two provinces will surely ripple better returns and outcomes. Thus, it is a shared responsibility that is valuable not only to the tourism industry but to the community that these two provinces serve. Truly, being IN LUv will bring us a #StrongerLaUnion, a province worth living in.
