On the side of the City Schools Division with 44 schools, Dr. Almeida presented their enrollment data for the past years wherein he said that there was a great decrease in the enrollment for the past 3 years in kindergarten but increasing in elementary, Junior and Senior High Schools.

He also presented the challenges they have encountered during the implementation of distance and face-to-face learning which includes increased number of classes and the remedies they applied to address the same such as construction of make shifts classrooms. It was also reported that there are dilapidated classrooms and even aggravated during the recent earthquake, however, they can still be restored and used as classrooms to meet the needs for additional classrooms for the face-to-face classes.

Several issues were also raised by the Vice-Governor and Sangguniang Panlalawigan Members particularly on the health and safety protocols of schools, vaccination, literacy and infrastructure programs and learning modalities and all were answered and noted by the resource speakers.

Overall, as assured by the DepEd Officials, the city and provincial public schools in La Union are ready for the face-to-face classes, both physically and academically with the help of the learners, teachers, public officials and the whole community in the spirit of #LaUnionPROBINSYAnihan.
