As part of the 172nd Foundation Anniversary of the Province of La Union, the Office of the Provincial Governor-Information and Communications Technology Unit of the Provincial Government of La Union (PGLU) conducted a four-day hands-on training on Web Development Training for local government units (LGUs) held on March 7 to 10, 2022 at the 4th Floor, LUPOS-EOC Building, Sevilla, City of San Fernando, La Union.
32 participants from 17 LGUs attended the said training which aims to facilitate the creation of their organizationsโ official website through content buildup by providing template-based on web content management systems platforms. The training ensured that the LGUโs design and content complied with the Government Website Template Design set by the National Government.
At the end of the training, the LGUs are expected to create or re-develop their own websites. By institutionalizing their official websites, it shall enhance their effectiveness, efficiency and transparency in their business processes.
In line with vision to position La Union as the Heart of Agri-Tourism in Northern Luzon by 2025, the training is expected to help promote LGUs by showcasing their different products and tourist attractions that will eventually make them popular across the internet and be known by the tourist through their own websites.
The PGLU shall continue to be pro-active in increasing public participation and satisfaction through digital transformation for a stronger #LaUnionLaUnay.
