Ayat for Iloco, LU Talents Take Center Stage in Kanta Sala, Timek ti Ayat Vocal Solo Competition

Strengthening the promotion of the Iloco language through a display of talents and creativity, the Provincial Government of La Union staged the Timek ti Ayat Vocal Solo and Kanta Sala Competition at the Provincial Capitol Grounds, City of San Fernando, La Union on March 17, 2023, as part of the Ayat Fest 2023 in celebration of the 173rd La Union Founding Anniversary.

Embodying La Unionโ€™s vibrant identity and rich culture, the participants, represented by a group of teachers, LGU employees, cultural workers and talented individuals, unleashed their dynamic and colorful performances through showcasing a live song and dance presentation that features Contemporary Ilokano songs and their original song composition highlighting the spirit of Love and Unity that binds the people of the province.

In accordance with the Local Language Code of La Union, the contest serves as an avenue for the Kaprobinsiaan to unite in showcasing their talents and culture while raising appreciation to Iloco to protect and popularize the language for the next generations to come.

The spectators were delighted as they witnessed the lively and unique performances of the contestants.

For the Kanta Sala, Kantarist from Rosario landed on the third spot; Ayat ken Laing Familia Para Musika ken Sining from the City of San Fernando obtained the second place and Polifonico Agoeรฑo from Agoo shines as Champion.

For the Timek ti Ayat Vocal Solo, Irnalene Kaye Ramelb of Agoo gained the third place; Juan Omapas Jr. of Rosario bagged the second place while Exequiel John Tatunay of the City of San Fernando hailed as Champion for the said event.

Kaprobinsiaan artists who also exhibited their creativity in the Maris ti AglawLaU painting competition were awarded during the awarding ceremony.

For the Maris ti AglawLaU Painting Competition, Daryll Argus Casugay of the City of San Fernando, La Union bagged the third place; Wil Freddrick Cruz of Bangar, La Union captured the second place while Javis Bon Arciaga of Balaoan, La Union was hailed as the Champion of the said event. They all won a Trophy, Cash Prize and a Certificate of Recognition.

In the spirit of #LaUnionPROBINSYAnihan, PGLU led by Gov. Raphaelle Veronica Ortega-David continues to recognize the significance of Iloco language as a manifestation of love to Ilokano's identity, culture and heritage which serves as a bridge towards the attainment of solidarity and progress in the province.
