Under the leadership of Gov. Francisco Emmanuel โPacoyโ R. Ortega III, the Provincial Government of La Union remains committed to the National Governmentโs Anti-Illegal Drug Campaign through its exemplary efforts to combat illegal drugs in the province as evident in the recently-concluded Regional Anti-Drug Abuse Council (ADAC) Performance Award for CY 2019 and 2020 led by the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG).
After garnering high functionality points for two consecutive years in accordance to the ADAC Performance Audit of the DILG, the PGLU was among the awardees during the said Awarding Ceremony held online on January 31, 2022. This was followed by the turning over of the two plaques to Gov. Pacoy by DILG Provincial Director Reggie R. Colisao. The PGLU has been a consistent awardee since the start of ADAC Awards in 2017.
The PGLU also takes pride as some municipalities in the province were likewise given the same recognition. Municipalities of Luna, Sudipen, Burgos, Rosario, Bacnotan, Santol, Caba, Balaoan, Bagulin, San Juan and Santo Tomas passed the ADAC assessment for 2019 while Municipalities of Agoo, Bacnotan, Balaoan, Bangar, Burgos, Caba, Luna, Naguilian, San Juan, Santol and Tubao passed for 2020.
ADAC Awards are given to the LGUs in recognition of their exemplary efforts in the performance of their duties, responsibilities, supervision, and control in implementing the national governmentโs anti-illegal drug campaign.
The PGLU will continue in improving its performance and best practices as well as assessing the effectiveness of the ordinances in its battle against illegal drugs ensuring to all kaprobinsiaan that #WeAreLaUnion, and we shall continue to move forward in building a #StrongerLaUnion, a province worth living in.
