The Provincial Government of La Union (PGLU), in partnership with the Local Government Unit (LGU) of Pugo, officially inaugurated the Ambangonan Hanging Bridge in Barangay Ambangonan, Pugo, La Union.

Designed to enhance connectivity and safety, the new bridge provides a more stable and efficient passage for residents and farmers transporting goods to the market. Unlike the old wooden and metal structure that swayed when crossed, the upgraded bridge is made of stable concrete with a non-slip surface, allowing safer access for pedestrians, as well as motorcycles and tricycles.

“Laking ginhawa po ng ating bridge, lalong-lalo na sa mga kabaranggay po natin dito sa Barangay Ambangonan. Mas mapapadali ang pang-araw-araw po ninyo… at mas mapapabilis [na rin] po ang paghahatid namin ng serbisyong nararapat sa bawat isa sa inyo,” Gov. Raphaelle Veronica “Rafy” Ortega-David shared during the event.

Also present during the inauguration were Sangguniang Panlalawigan Member Henry Balbin, Pugo Mayor Kurt Walter Martin and Vice Mayor Brian Balloguing, and other local officials to show their support.

This agri-infrastructure project is a result of the La Union PROBINSYAnihan of residents, LGUs, and partners for safer and more efficient accessibility in Pugo. PGLU continues to deliver on its commitment to a People-Centered Governance rooted in the pursuit of inclusive development for all of La Union, including its farther barangays.
