To ensure a smooth transition into retirement and express gratitude for their service, the Provincial Government of La Union (PGLU), led by Gov. Raphaelle Veronica “Rafy” Ortega-David, organized a Pre-Retirement Program and Send-Off Activity for 32 retired and retiring employees of CY 2025. The event took place on March 6-7, 2025, at the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office Training Hall in Brgy. Sevilla, City of San Fernando, La Union, and the Vel-Seirra Integrated Farm in Tallipugo, Balaoan, La Union.

The Pre-Retirement Program, a mandatory initiative for government personnel, underscored the value of employees as the agency’s most important resource. It offered learning support that addressed common needs such as adult wellness, graceful aging, longevity, financial security, and continued personal growth. Through a series of discussions and interactive activities, participants gained valuable insights to help them sustain a productive and healthy life after retirement.

Integrated into the program was the Send-Off Party for Retiring Employees, designed to maintain good relations between the retiring employees and the PGLU.

Gov. Rafy expressed her heartfelt gratitude, stating, “Dahil sa mga dekadang pananatili po ninyo sa Kapitolyo, marami na po tayong naabot nang sama-sama para sa mga KaPROBINSYAnihan natin. Maraming salamat po for your decades of service for La Union.” She also commended them for a job well done and a well-deserved break as she led the ceremonial toast, adding, “Finally, makakapagbakasyon na po kayo at makakasama nang mas matagal ang inyong mga pamilya—without filing for leaves! Congratulations po!”

As the employees’ government careers culminate, this program provided a fitting celebration of their service and contribution to the PGLU, while also addressing their future needs as constituents of the province.
