PESO-La Union Links Jobseekers to SM Job Opportunities

The Public Employment Service Office (PESO) of the Provincial Government of La Union (PGLU) led the Local Recruitment Activity for SM Appliance Center on June 10–11, 2025, at the PESO-La Union Office, Mabanag Building, General Luna Street, Barangay II, City of San Fernando, La Union

The activity aimed to help SM Appliance Center hire workers for its upcoming store at SM City La Union, set to open in September 2025.

PESO-La Union, led by Provincial PESO Manager Ms. Charito C. Dator, collaborated closely with SM Appliance Center’s Human Resources Supervisor Ms. Faye Callanga to ensure an orderly and efficient screening process.

A total of 67 jobseekers were accommodated and evaluated for various positions, including Store Supervisor, Customer Service Assistant, Inventory Assistant, Warehouse Assistant, Visual Display Assistant, Sales Dispatching Assistant, Sales Assistant, Sales Clerk, Counter Assistant, Cashier, and Stock Clerk.

This activity shows the strong commitment of PGLU through PESO to help local jobseekers find meaningful employment. It also highlights the importance of partnerships between the government and private companies in creating job opportunities and improving employment services in La Union.
