In support of inclusive education and meaningful employment, the Provincial Government of La Union (PGLU), through its Public Employment Service Office (PESO), joined the launch of Dagiti ALS Learners Addaan Namnama (DALAN): ALS Advocacy and Social Mobilization 2025 to offer PESO programs and services to Alternative Learning System (ALS) learners.
Held on June 13, 2025 at the DepEd Division Training Center in Barangay Tanqui, San Fernando City, La Union, the event served as a platform for PESO-La Union to connect ALS learners with job matching, skills training, and livelihood opportunities that can help bridge their education with employment.
The event gathered ALS learners from across La Union and various stakeholders to promote programs and initiatives aligned for School Year 2025–2026. It also sought to deepen public understanding of ALS as a critical pathway for out-of-school youth and adult learners to achieve education and personal development. Participating organizations showcased their support systems to reinforce the implementation and impact of ALS within the city.
Ms. Charito C. Dator, PESO-La Union Manager, highlighted that PESO’s programs are designed to empower ALS learners by enhancing their employability and preparing them for long-term, sustainable careers. She emphasized that access to decent livelihood is a key factor in encouraging learners to continue and complete their education.
The launching ceremony concluded with the signing of a Memorandum of Agreement and a Wall of Commitment, symbolizing the collective resolve of all partners to champion the cause of ALS learners and ensure that educational and career opportunities are within reach for all.
The participation of PESO-La Union in the DALAN 2025 launch reflects the PGLU’s advocacy for inclusive and equitable education. Through continued collaboration with education and community stakeholders, PGLU reaffirms its commitment to create pathways that uplift every kaprobinsiaan, regardless of their background or learning journey.
