OPVet Conducts Orientation Seminar on Meat Safety, Gender and Development

The Office of the Provincial Veterinarian headed by Dr. Domingo Bobby C. Calub III conducted an Orientation seminar on Meat Safety, and Gender and Development to 30 meat vendors and butchers from the Municipality of Agoo.
The seminar focused on meat safety practices to ensure that all meat products sold in the Province of La Union are safe for consumers. As part of the office’s Gender and Development (GAD) initiatives, they also discussed GAD fundamentals and women empowerment.
Veterinarians from the Office of the Provincial Veterinarian, Dr. Santa Fe Palpal and Dr. Arvin F. Sobrepeña shared their expertise on Meat Safety, while Ms. Cherrie Bayuga Supervising Human Research Specialist from the Civil Service Commission gave information on GAD.
