After four adventurous and thrilling days of traversing the toughest terrains and rivers of La Union, and going through challenging staged courses and tracks, 83 adrenaline-junkie 4x4 off-road challengers from all over the country completed the first ever Rafy’s Rainforest Challenge (RFC) in the province which is part of the Ayat Fest 2023: the 173rd La Union Founding Anniversary.

On April 1, 2023, fearless off-roaders who joined the Rafy’s RFC convened in Poro Point Baywalk, City of San Fernando, La Union for post scrutineering before the awarding ceremony and send-off dinner hosted by Gov. Rapahelle Veronica “Rafy” Ortega-David and Executive Assistant Kevin David in Thunderbird Resorts.

Rafy’s RFC is the first leg of the RFC Challenge in the Philippines for this year. It has staged four different off-road race categories which includes Prototype, Modified Production, Production, and RFC Lite.

Top 3 winners for Prototype, Modified and Production race will have to defend their titles for the whole RFC Philippines Global Series of 2023, and the Champion for each category will have a chance to represent the Philippines for the RFC Global Series 2023 Finale to be held in Malaysia.

RFC is one of the toughest motor races in the world and Gov. Rafy is proud that such event was staged in the province of La Union paving for more sports tourism activities in the province.
