Livelihood Caravan for IPs to Set as PGLU, IPMRS Seal Partnership

Valuing the indigenous diversity, strength, resilience, and cultures in the Province of La Union, the Provincial Government of La Union (PGLU) led by Gov. Raphaelle Veronica “Rafy” Ortega-David formally sealed a partnership with Provincial Federation of Indigenous Peoples Mandatory Representatives (IPMRs) of La Union through a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) for the conduct of BALLAYGI: PGLU Livelihood Caravan for Indigenous Peoples (IPs) on May 29, 2023 at the Office of the Provincial Governor, Provincial Capitol Building, City of San Fernando, La Union.

Gov. Rafy and IPMR President Mr. Clemente B. Dingayan represented the PGLU and Provincial Federation of IPMRs of La Union, respectively. Serving as witnesses were Provincial Tourism Officer Arthur S. Cortez, Jr., Provincial Veterinarian Dr. Domingo Bobby C. Calub and IPMR of Municipality of Burgos Willy P. Canuto. The Culture and the Arts Unit of the La Union Provincial Tourism Office also graced the event.

The MOA signing seeks to formalize the partnership of PGLU and Provincial Federation of IPMRs of La Union to provide an income generating opportunities among IPs through distribution of livestock animals.

Gov. Rafy expressed her gratitude and appreciation to the Provincial Federation of IPMRs of La Union for forging partnership with PGLU. This forged LGU-IP sector collaboration is essential in preserving the cultural heritage of the Province of La Union.

In realization to #LaUnionPROBINSYAnihan, PGLU with strong support of Provincial Federation of IPMRs of La Union, looks forward to the successful conduct of the Livelihood Caravan as a way of supporting and empowering the IP community for a more diverse and inclusive society.
