La Union Women takes part in Celebration of the International Mountain Day 2022

Women of La Union had proven that they could move mountains as they joined La Union’s International Mountain Day (IMD) Celebration on December 11, 2022.
216 participants, mostly women, volunteered to be part of the said celebration held in Cardiz, Bagulin, La Union which was made possible with the active partnership of the Provincial Government of La Union (PGLU), through the Provincial Government - Environment and Natural Resources Office (PG-ENRO), and the Local Government Unit (LGU) of Bagulin, La Union headed by Mayor Hon. Virgilio C. Flor.
With the theme “Woman Moves Mountain”, PG-ENRO gave priority to women participants for this year’s celebration as they play vital roles in resource management and water and food security at household and community levels.
A Community Environmental Awareness activity was also conducted to enhance the participants’ environmental awareness and educate the community of Cardiz, Bagulin the importance of mountains and conservation of natural resources as they adapt to climate change.
All 216 volunteer-participants were given love gifts from the PGLU as a token of gratitude for joining the IMD Celebration of La Union.
The PGLU continues to stir volunteerism and involvement of kaprobinsiaan in the #KalikasanNaman campaign and be part of the preservation of the province’s rich and diverse natural resources --- the assets of La Union in becoming the Heart of Agri-Tourism in Northern Luzon.
