La Union Day Flag Raising Ceremony Centers on Call for Unity

In a meaningful display and call for unity, a Simultaneous Flag Raising Ceremony was held yesterday at the Capitol Grounds, City of San Fernando, La Union as part of the 175th Founding Anniversary celebration.

The flag raising ceremony featured an Audio-Visual Presentation showcasing the province's journey throughout its 175th years of glory. Leading the flag ceremony rites was Gov. Raphaelle Veronica “Rafy” Ortega-David, joined by Board Members Hon. Henry B. Balbin, Hon. Cynthia Angelica M. Bacurnay; Hon. Victor I. Rivera; and Hon. Pablo C. Ortega.

Also present were officials of different local government units and Mayors Hon. Hermenegildo A. Gualberto of the City of San Fernando, Hon. Divina C. Fontanilla of Bacnotan, Hon. Joy Pinzon-Merin of Bangar, Hon. Donna R. Crispino of Caba, Hon. Kurt Walter M. Martin of Pugo, Hon. Lany B. Carbonell of San Gabriel, Hon. Arturo B. Valdriz of San Juan, and Hon. Wendy Joy B. Buquing of Sudipen. Vice Mayors, City Council Members, Provincial Government of La Union employees, Civil Society Organization, Police Officers led by La Union Police Provincial Office Provincial Director PCOL HERYL BRUNO, and the Mutia ti La Union aspirants were also present.

In her speech, Gov. Raphaelle Veronica “Rafy” Ortega-David emphasized the power of unity in building a stronger La Union through KaPROBINSYAnihan spirit.

“Agkaykaysa tayo kas maysa a probinsia a mangnamnama ken magagaran para iti maymaysa a sirmatatayo a mapasayaat ti biag iti tunggal maysa nga agindeg iti ayayaten tayo a probinsiatayo a La Union.”

Through this collective efforts of all Local Government Units, the La Union PROBINSYAnihan spirit shines, honoring the province’s 175 year history while inspiring the present generation to uphold the values of unity, resilience, and progress.
