Gov. Rafy Commands #AlertoKaprobinsiaan as Province Braces for #BettyPH; LU Mayors on top of LGU Preparedness

The Provincial Government of La Union through Gov. Raphaelle Veronica "Rafy" Ortega-David has taken charge of #BettyPH Emergency Preparedness and Response Operation as the whole province braces for the possible impact of the super typhoon.
With the directive of Gov. Rafy, the PGLU and all of its component Local Government Units (LGU) are taking necessary preparations to minimize the risk and damages of said typhoon
On May 26, 2023, the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO) convened for an emergency meeting to ensure that all necessary steps are taken to prepare the province for the typhoon.
With Blue Alert Level being raised in the entire Ilocos Region, the PDRRMO's emergency and rescue vehicles and equipment are all checked and on standby, ready to be augmented at any time needed. La Union Rescue Hotline 911 and other emergency hotlines are all working and respondents are on high alert.
An early information campaign about safety and typhoon preparedness was also made by the PGLU through its official social media account and media partners.
On the other hand, LGUs have also made their necessary preparations. Aside from being active on their official Facebook pages, they have alerted their respective Disaster Risk Reduction Management Offices. They have also made sure that their emergency lines are working, and evacuation centers are on standby.
Moreso, Gov. Rafy has instructed component LGUs to use all necessary resources and provide the utmost assistance needed by affected kaprobinsiaan.
The PGLU will be closely monitoring the updates on Typhoon Betty and will take additional measures as needed.
Every kaprobinsiaan are encouraged to stay alert and follow the guidelines issued by authorities to ensure the safety of everyone.
As the province of La Union prepares for Typhoon Betty, the PGLU is optimistic that the spirit of La Union PROBINSYAnihan will once again manifest during this time, especially in mitigating risks and disasters, helping one another, and conducting possible relief drives among kaprobinsiaan.
