To enhance the ability of jobseekers in obtaining work skills and increase their employability in the labor market, the Provincial Government of La Union through the Public Employment Service Office (PESO) in partnership with the Don Mariano Marcos Memorial State University – Mid La Union Campus (DMMMSU-MLUC) and their school-based PESO, the Trabaho Center, successfully conducted the Skills and Employability Enhancement Training for Jobseekers on November 25, 2022 at the College of Management Audio-Visual Room, DMMMSU-MLUC, Catbangen, City of San Fernando, La Union.

BLDH Observes VAWC Awareness Week; Conducts Lecture on Republic Act 9262

In observance of Violence Against Women and Children (VAWC) awareness week, Medical Social Worker Leizlee Ann Espinueva of Balaoan District Hospital (BLDH) conducts lecture on Republic Act 9262 or Anti-violence against women and their children Act to patients and watchers of the BLDH Out-patient Department on November 25, 2022. Raising people’s awareness on VAWC lessens the prevalence of crimes and helps the kaprobinsiaan live a VAW-free community which is in accordance to the People Centered and driven governance agenda of Gov. Rafy Ortega-David.

As part of the celebration of Environmental Awareness Month, Climate Change Consciousness Week, and Clean Air Month, the Provincial Government of La Union, through its Environment and Natural Resources Office (PG-ENRO) conducted the second Environmental Summit on Nov 25, 2022 at Ynad’s Resort in San Fernando City, La Union. To accommodate more audience, a live coverage of the event was also streamed via Provincial Government of La Union Facebook Page.

In partnership with the National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA), the Provincial Government of La Union (PGLU) through the La Union Provincial Tourism Office – Culture and the Arts Unit held the first 2 Phases of its Cultural Mapping Project through a Scoping and Negotiation and Social Preparation Meeting on November 21, 2022 at Don Mariano Marcos Memorial State University – Open University System Multi-Purpose Hall, Catbangen, City of San Fernando, La Union.

To further support the growth of domestic tourism with the revival of the holiday economics in the country, the Provincial Government of La Union took part in the first-ever North Luzon Travel Fair (1NLTF) on November 18 – 20, 2022 at the SMX Convention Center, Clark Freeport, Angeles, Pampanga.

For its valuable contribution to sustainable urban tourism development, the Provincial Government of La Union (PGLU) was awarded by the Asian Institute of Management (AIM) – Dr. Andrew L. Tan (ALT) Center for Tourism and Megaworld Foundation, Inc. as one of the recipients of the first Philippine Tourism Excellence Awards for the category Good Local Governance on November 18, 2022 at Sheraton Manila Hotel, Newport World Resorts.

To support the diverse and sustainable heritage-centered Programs, Projects and Activities (PPAs) of the province in the spirit of #LaUnionPROBINSYAnihan from 2022 and beyond, the Provincial Government of La Union (PGLU) through the La Union Provincial Tourism Office – Culture and the Arts Unit organized the first-ever La Union Annual Youth Taoid Camp (LUAYTC) on November 16 – 18, 2022 at Ynad’s Place Hotel and Resort, Barangay Namtutan, City of San Fernando, La Union.
