LU eyes rise of Sports-Tourism as it Successfully Stages 1st Rainforest Challenge

After four adventurous and thrilling days of traversing the toughest terrains and rivers of La Union, and going through challenging staged courses and tracks, 83 adrenaline-junkie 4×4 off-road challengers from all over the country completed the first ever Rafy’s Rainforest Challenge (RFC) in the province which is part of the Ayat Fest 2023: the 173rd La Union Founding Anniversary.

The rooftop conference hall of Speaker Pro-Tempore Francisco I. Ortega Legislative Building and Session Hall at the Provincial Capitol was buzzing with excitement as participants from the Sangguniang Panlalawigan (SP) Office gathered for a seminar on Sexual Orientation, Gender Identity, and Expression and Sex Characteristics (SOGIESC). The seminar, which is the culminating activity of the office in celebration of the Women’s Month 2023, on Friday, March 31, 2023, was led by the Office of Sangguniang Panlalawigan Member (SPM) Maria Rosario Eufrosina “Chary” P. Nisce together with the invited resource speaker Atty. Lian E. Rimando.

LU’s Employment Portal Bags Award, Special Citation for Digital Governance

The Provincial Government of La Union (PGLU) has proven once again that its initiatives and innovations on Information and Communications Technology (ICT) in governance are among the best in the country after its pioneering Find Jobs: La Union Employment Portal won 2nd Place in Customer Empowerment (G2C) Award – Provincial Level; and a Special Citation on Transformational and Disruptive Solution – Provincial Level during the recently concluded Digital Governance Awards (DGA) 2022 Awarding Ceremony held on March 30, 2023 at the National Museum of National History.

SP Oks Gov. Rafy to Enter Deed of Usufruct for DSWD FOI’s San Juan Office

The Department of Social Welfare and Development Field Office 1 DSWD FOI) will continue to operate in its San Juan, La Union Office for the next 25 years after the Sangguniang Panlalawigan of La Union approves a resolution authorizing Gov. Raphaelle Veronica “Rafy” Ortega-David to enter and sign a Deed of Usufruct concerning the use of a property registered to DSWD FOI.
