As Super Typhoon Betty looms over the Northern Luzon, the Province of La Union intensifies alertness by taking proactive measures to safeguard communities. While the operations are still in blue alert status, Gov. Raphaelle Veronica “Rafy” Ortega-David has directed the implementation of several precautionary actions to ensure the welfare of kaprobinsiaan.
The Province of La Union headed by Gov. Raphaelle Veronica “Rafy” Ortega-David, strengthened the provision of basic education to its young citizenry through its partnership with Halina Ka-klase (HKK) Philippines in initiating the HKK Edukartyun: One Day, One Community Literacy Program held on May 27, 2023 at the PDRRMO Training Center in Sevilla, City of San Fernando, La Union.
With the aim to promote and elevate the importance of heritage preservation by engaging the youth in this cultural advocacy, the Provincial Government of La Union (PGLU) through the La Union Provincial Tourism Office – Culture and the Arts Unit conducted the 2nd year of the La Union Annual Youth Taoid Camp (LUAYTC) on May 22 – 26, 2023 at Camp Avenue, Barangay Taboc, San Juan, La Union.
The Provincial Government of La Union through Gov. Raphaelle Veronica “Rafy” Ortega-David has taken charge of #BettyPH Emergency Preparedness and Response Operation as the whole province braces for the possible impact of the super typhoon.
Residents exhibited their participation to #LaUnionPROBINSYAnihan by rescuing two sea turtles. These voluntary acts are aligned to Provincial Government of La Union’s commitment in preserving biodiversity in the province through its #KalikasanNaman Campaign and as part of the celebration of the International Day of Biological Diversity (IDBD). The PG-ENRO staff together with the Local Government Unit of Luna provided assistance in securing the sea turtles.
With the aim of improving organizational performance and service delivery of the Provincial Government of La Union (PGLU), a total of 37 current and developing supervisors from the different offices and hospitals of the PGLU have completed the Supervisory Development Course Tracks II and III from May 22-26, 2023 at the Vista La Vita, City of San Fernando, La Union.
Garnering a passing rate of 91.60 percent, Kaprobinsiaan Marvin Eisma Perez of Brgy. Linong, Santo Tomas, La Union placed 7th in the 2023 Licensure Examination for Professional Teachers.
