On June 2, 2023, the Bureau of Immigration (BI) – San Fernando Immigration District paid a courtesy call to Gov. Raphaelle Veronica “Rafy” Ortega-David in her office at the Provincial Capitol, to highlight their intensified efforts to ensure that foreigners in the province comply with immigration laws.

Being older by more than a hundred and forty-five years, La Union was the preferred partner of the Provincial Treasury Office of Apayao Province for their benchmarking activity on June 1, 2023 as they are considered as one of the youngest provinces in Northern Luzon while La Union is one of the oldest.
