As the Provincial Government of La Union (PGLU) continues to uphold the interest of all kaprobinsiaan, a joint Committee Hearing was called by the Sangguniang Panlalawigan (SP) Committee on Transportation as the lead committee and the Committee on Laws, Rules and Privileges on April 4, 2022 via video conference.

As the second quarter of the year 2022 commences, Gov. Francisco Emmanuel “Pacoy” R. Ortega III discussed new updates and opportunities with focus on the welfare of employees in the Provincial Government of La Union (PGLU) in his message during the Monday Flag Raising Ceremony of the PGLU on April 4, 2022 at the Capitol Grounds, City of San Fernando, La Union.

Bilang paghahanda sa mga panahon ng kalamidad at sakuna, pinangunahan ng Provincial Government of La Union (PGLU) sa pamamagitan ng Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO) ang pagsasagawa ng limang araw na Disaster Preparedness Training sa mga miyembro ng Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (MDRRMC) at ilang Barangay Officials at Barangay Patrol sa Bayan ng Burgos, La Union na nagtapos noong Abril 1, 2022. Isa sa mga natural hazards na nararanasan sa nasabing bayan tuwing may bagyo ay ang landslide.

With the continuous upholding of safety and security in the Province of La Union, the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management (DRRM) Council convened on March 30, 2022 at the La Union Peace, Order and Safety – Emergency Operations Center, City of San Fernando, La Union to ensure alignment in the operations of the province and attached agencies and local government units (LGUs).

As part of the celebration of Naguilian District Hospital’s (NDH) 50th Anniversary, and of Fire prevention month, the staff underwent fire and earthquake drill last March 30, 2022. The Naguilian La Union Bureau of Fire Prevention (BFP) under the supervision of SINSP Jeferson G. Hidalgo, together with the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction Management Council (MDRRMC) headed by Mr. Mark Anthony Dilodilo, conducted the said drill to equip NDH employees with practical survival skills whenever fire outbreaks or earthquake occurs in the area. Patients at the Out-Patient Department were also asked to participate in the said drills.

A 30-feet fiber reinforced plastic patrol boat was awarded to the Provincial Government of La Union on March 30, 2022 at Don Mariano Marcos Memorial State University – North La Union Campus (DMMMSU – NLUC) – Fisheries Research Training Institute (FRTI), Brgy. Paraoir, Balaoan, La Union. The said patrol boat was the output from the 9-day training on patrol boat making facilitated by the Bureau of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs – US Department of State and DMMMSU-NLUC.

In view of Women’s Month, today, March 28, 2022, the Provincial Government of La Union (PGLU) celebrates and pays tribute to the strong, smart, capable, beautiful, and empowered Juanas or the women employees who provide best government services to kaprobinsiaan amidst their personal battles and circumstances.

As part of their commitment to strengthen the delivery of employment facilitation services to the people of La Union, representatives from the Department of Labor and Employment – La Union Field Office (DOLE – LUFO) together with the 25 Public Employment Service Office (PESO) La Union managers and staff convene for the 1st Quarterly La Union PESO Federation meeting on March 24, 2022 at UVAS Café, Urayong, Bauang, La Union.
