For better and safe road access for KaPROBINSYAnihan, Gov. Raphaelle Veronica “Rafy” Ortega-David led the inauguration of the Pideg Bridge with Approaches in Tubao, La Union on February 5, 2025. The bridge is expected to open opportunities for more economic activities in the towns of Tubao and Rosario.
The 30 linear meter bridge with approaches worth P34.5 Million upgrades an over 30-year old bridge which was originally ten-meter long and three-meter wide. The new bridge is now expanded 6.1 meters in width and 30 meters in length elevating to almost two meters. It can now accommodate heavy equipment vehicles connecting Rosario and Tubao in two lanes.
In her message, Gov. Rafy emphasized that the bridge symbolizes the efforts of connecting La Union Areas saying, “We are doing this project most especially para sa mga kababayan po natin dito sa La Union at dito sa bayan ng Tubao at Barangay Pideg.” She also expressed her gratitude to the Provincial Engineering Office “Hindi lang naman po yung mga taga barangay at bayan natin dito ang makikinabang dahil lahat naman tayo dito makikinabang so dapat yung quality of work na nilalabas po natin talagang pang long term.”
Also in attendance at the inauguration and ribbon-cutting ceremony were La Union Police Provincial Office Provincial DIrector PCOL Heryl Bruno and Provincial Engineering Office staff led by Provincial Engineer Ressie Estrella.
This project mirrors La Union PROBINSYAnihan for a broader vision for La Union—one that includes building more robust infrastructure, fostering sustainable economic development, and improving the quality of life for residents forwarding the vision for La Union to be the Heart of Agri-Tourism in Northern Luzon.
