As Super Typhoon Betty looms over the Northern Luzon, the Province of La Union intensifies alertness by taking proactive measures to safeguard communities. While the operations are still in blue alert status, Gov. Raphaelle Veronica "Rafy" Ortega-David has directed the implementation of several precautionary actions to ensure the welfare of kaprobinsiaan.
Under the leadership of Gov. Rafy, the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction Management Council has issued directives, including the dissemination of warnings and advisories, the evacuation of residents in high-risk areas, the activation of local Emergency Operations Centers, and the mobilization of rapid deployment teams to strategic locations. By undertaking these measures, the authorities aim to minimize potential risks and promote the safety of kaprobinsiaan if the typhoon affects the province.
Governor Rafy emphasizes the importance of #LaUnionPROBINSYAnihan during this time, and urges all to stay #AlertoKaprobinsiaan, cooperate, and follow the instructions of authorities to avoid serious possible injuries, and to ensure their safety.
Recognizing the shared responsibility for disaster preparedness, the Local Government Units (LGUs) in La Union are also taking comprehensive precautions. Some LGUs have issued relevant memorandums, implemented road closures, and issued travel advisories as part of their preparation efforts. Gov. Rafy assured that all LGUs will receive emergency backups as required, ensuring a coordinated response across the province.
While La Union's rescue teams remain on high alert, Gov. Rafy emphasizes the importance of their safety. Rescuers are urged to assess each emergency situation carefully before taking action, ensuring their own well-being while aiding others in need.
With the #LaUnionPROBINSYAnihan between kaprobinsiaan and local authorities, La Union is poised to handle the forthcoming impacts of Super Typhoon Betty effectively. By prioritizing community safety and preparedness ahead, La Union is equipped better to weather the storm and safeguard the welfare of its residents.
