PGLU EYES SMALL-SCALE INDUSTRIES DEVELOPMENTS IN LU

Gov. Raphaelle Veronica Ortega-David affirmed her continuous support in collaborating with stakeholders as representatives from the University of the Philippines Institute for Small-Scale Industries (UP ISSI) paid a courtesy visit and meeting on May 8, 2023 at the Office of the Provincial Governor, City of San Fernando, La Union. The visit aims to explore possible partnerships and projects between the UP ISSI and the Provincial Government of La Union.
Gov. Rafy, along with Provincial Administrator Ms. Agnes Grace A. Cargamento, and Local Economic Enterprise and Investment Promotions Unit (LEEIPU) Assistant Department Head Ms. Angela Grace C. Peralta, welcomed the UP ISSI team led by University Extension Specialists, Ms. Joanna Rose T. Laddaran and Mr. Jake A. Villanueva. Among the matters discussed centered on the opportunities for future capacity-building programs and relevant activities, which can help in the development of Micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in the province of La Union.
The collaboration of PGLU with UP ISSI envisions to create better opportunities for MSMEs in La Union that will help boost the province's economy and in the realization of La Union's vision to be the Heart of Agri-Tourism in Northern Luzon by 2025.
