LU's Employment Portal Bags Award, Special Citation for Digital Governance

The Provincial Government of La Union (PGLU) has proven once again that its initiatives and innovations on Information and Communications Technology (ICT) in governance are among the best in the country after its pioneering Find Jobs: La Union Employment Portal won 2nd Place in Customer Empowerment (G2C) Award - Provincial Level; and a Special Citation on Transformational and Disruptive Solution - Provincial Level during the recently concluded Digital Governance Awards (DGA) 2022 Awarding Ceremony held on March 30, 2023 at the National Museum of National History.
During the PGLU's first Monday Flagraising Ceremony on April 3, 2023, Gov. Rapahelle Veronica "Rafy" Ortega-David congratulated the Information and Communications Technology Unit for the said recognition. Gov. Rafy mentioned that the victory and success of Find Jobs: La Union Employment Portal is something to be celebrated for it is everybody's win.
The Find Jobs La Union Employment Portal is an in-house developed system using the AngularJS Framework. It is an open-source framework for building robust web applications. It meets the criteria in building a dynamic web application that is value proposition, smooth usability, easy navigation and fast page loading speed. It is fully extensible and works well with other libraries. Every feature can be easily modified to suit a unique workflow in development.
The award-winning Portal was fully utilized by the Public Employment Service Office, giving kaprobinsiaan job seekers in La Union easy access to the available jobs within and outside the province, as well as abroad. It also provides platform to employers from La Union and neighboring partner provinces to post their available job opportunities on the portal.
The PGLU commits to continue to improve its ICT practices with the aim for a more innovative and excellent quality of public service for the Province of La Union and its people.
