The Provincial Government of La Union (PGLU), led by Gov. Raphaelle Veronica โRafyโ Ortega-David, through the Office of the Provincial Administrator (OPA), conducted a two-day Pre-Retirement Program and Send-Off Activity for retiring employees as a form of acknowledgment for their service for La Union on February 20-21, 2023, in Sevilla, City of San Fernando, La Union.
The Pre-Retirement Program is in accordance with Section 7, Rule VIII of the Omnibus Rules Implementing Book V of E.O. 292 and CSC Memorandum Circular No. 23, s. 1993, which mandates the implementation of in-service training to familiarize would-be retirees with the government retirement plans and benefits as well as available business opportunities or other productive options/pursuits.
The program also pursued facilitating a smooth transition from active service to retirement. As Governor Rafy aims to elevate the way of living of every kaprobinsiaan, this program serves as an instrument of helping the retiring employees by providing them tips for managing retirement benefits, strengthening physical, mental, and spiritual wellness, and self-development.
Program segments were conducted to deliver these objectives, such as the presentation of GSIS Retirement Options by Karla Mae Jalad and Christine Camacho of GSIS; Financial Planning and Management with Dr. Larry Cabatic; Mental Health Talks on Maintaining a Happy Disposition After Retirement with Hannah Lyn Bautista; Discovering Oneโs Purpose Through Spiritual Vitality with Rev. Brennus Paragas; and Maintaining Physical Vitality Through a Livelihood Immersion Program with Ramon Benito Tamayo.
At the conclusion of the 2-day activity, Governor Rafy expressed her gratitude for their dedication to service under the previous and present administration. The ceremony served as an encouragement to all kaprobinsiaan that utmost service to the province is a factor that can help the people uniteโ heeding the call for #LaUnionPROBINSYAnihan to position La Union as the Heart of Agri-Tourism in Northern Luzon by 2022.
