PGLU Confers 11 Individuals for their Services for Province, Kaprobinsiaan

Honoring their contributions and achievements in the attainment of peace, unity and prosperity of the province of La Union and its people, the Provincial Government of La Union hails exceptional individual and service organizations during the βPammadayaw 2023β held on March 1, 2023 at the Agora Events Place, Thunderbird Resorts Hotel, City of San Fernando, La Union.
The said activity is in line with the celebration of Ayat Fest 2023 in giving honor to the efforts of kaprobinsiaan in establishing and sustaining the Province of La Union, making it one of the most resilient, peaceful, orderly, and progressive provinces in the country.
The recognitions for the outstanding individuals and service organizations are divided into different categories namely Balitok a Medalia ti La Union, La Union Service Award, Diego Silang Award, Abel Award, Basi Award, Most Outstanding Entrepinoy of the Province, Sadiri Award, and Lupong Tagapamayapa Award.
11 awardees were conferred with La Union Service Award, which is given to private citizens and public officials who have rendered outstanding and exemplary accomplishments in helping the provincial administration promote the cause of good government and preserve the ideals of public service. They were former Board Members Nancy Corazon M. Bacurnay, Abraham P. Rimando, and Christian I. Rivera; along with their former colleagues and now La Union First District Representative Cong. Francisco Paolo P. Ortega V; Luna Mayor Gary N. Pinzon, Agoo Mayor Frank Sibuma; and City of San Fernando Board Member Jonathan Justo A. Orros. Former Pugo Mayor Priscilla M. Martin; Integrated Electrical Engineers of the Philippines, Inc. National President Engr. Feliciano F. Padua III; DSWD Region 1 Assistant Regional Director Marlene Febe D. Peralta; and Philippine Red Cross La Union Chapter Chairman Eduardo V. Regala also received the said recognition.
The awardees were assessed according to their topmost outstanding achievements and contributions for the Province of La Union and kaprobinsiaan.
Present in Pammadayaw 2023 to present the awards along with Gov. Raphaelle Veronica βRafyβ Ortega-David were Vice Governor Mario Eduardo C. Ortega and Board Members Gerard G. Ostrea, Jennifer C. Mosuela-Fernandez, Henry Balbin, Cynthia Angelica M. Bacurnay, Ruperto A. Rillera, Jr., Victor I. Rivera, Geraldine R. Ortega, Alyssa Kristine B. Sibuma, and Pablo C. Ortega.
Gov. Rafy concluded the event with her message, βThe Pammadayaw 2023, Conferment of Awards to exemplary individuals in La Union speaks not only of your excellence but also of our coming together as one province to bring progress.β
She also challenged the awardees to continue their work of service. ββ¦Continue to serve as role models to inspire more role models in our province. In that way, we create more responsible leaders and citizens for the province,β Gov Rafy said.
Also present to witness the recognition were former Governor Victor C. Ortega and former City of San Fernando Mayor Mary Jane Ortega. Families of the awardees were also delighted to share the moment with them.
