In observance of La Union Arbor Day, the Provincial Government of La Union (PGLU), through its Provincial Government–Environment and Natural Resources Office, spearheaded a tree planting activity on June 2, 2025, in Barangay Paagan, Santol, La Union.

A total of 350 forest and fruit-bearing seedlings were planted by 175 volunteers, consisting of employees from various PGLU offices, the Local Government Unit of Santol, barangay officials, Bureau of Fire Protection, Philippine National Police, Sangguniang Kabataan, and students.

The planted seedlings included Sagat, Dao, Banaba, Agar Tree, Jackfruit, Star Apple, Cacao, Guyabano, Karmay, and Kasoy, which were selected for their environmental and food source benefits.

La Union Arbor Day is celebrated annually on the first Monday of June, as declared by Provincial Ordinance No. 24-2012. While tree-planting activities are conducted throughout the year, this annual observance is considered the largest organized effort under the PGLU's #KalikasanNaman campaign. Through united action, La Union continues to plant the seeds of a more sustainable future for every citizen.
