NDH’s Buntis Day Offers Lectures, Healthcare Services, Entertainment for Nat’l Women’s Month

Naguilian District Hospital (NDH) commemorated National Women's Month with the Buntis Day program which honored expectant mothers through educational lectures, free healthcare services, and recognition on March 19, 2025.

Promoting maternal care and empowering expectant mothers, NDH offered free dental and oral check-ups for pregnant women in Naguilian, further emphasizing the role of oral care during maternity. A Buntis Kit filled with milk for mothers, prenatal vitamins, dental kits, and baby kits to help with their newborn's early needs were also provided to assist the participants in their post-birth preparations.

The event featured a series of educational lectures by healthcare professionals, covering crucial topics such as prenatal check-ups, breastfeeding, family planning, mental health awareness, and women’s rights equipping attendees with knowledge as they transition to become mothers.

“Buntis Day at NDH is a touching celebration of the significance of maternal health and the power of women… as well as the togetherness of the Naguilian community and its catchment Areas,” said Dr. Dan William Y. Dacanay II, MD, DFM, Chief of Hospital of NDH.

One of the main highlights of the event was the search for Miss Buntis 2025, where Maria Ramonita Josephine Estipular of Balecbec, Naguilian bested the title. Recognition was given to the youngest and oldest pregnants for their motherhood journey.

The NDH, together with the Provincial Government of La Union headed by Gov. Raphaelle Veronica "Rafy" Ortega-David, ensures that women KaPROBINSYAnihan receive better healthcare services, education, and the support they need as they prepare for motherhood.
