Balaoan District Hospital Conferred with DOH Award for Excellence in Nutrition Standards

Balaoan District Hospital (BLDH) was recognized for its best practice, “Serving Nutritious Meals in Compliance with Nutrition Standards,” during the Region I Health Promotion Awards for Healthy Health Facility and Green Conference 2024 at Plaza del Norte Hotel and Convention Center, Laoag City, Ilocos Norte on November 26, 2024.
The said recognition was conferred to BLDH by the Department of Health (DOH) - Integrated Hospital Operations and Management Program (IHOMP), which aims to improve healthcare service efficiency and effectiveness by ensuring compliance with established standards and guidelines.
Gov. Raphaelle Veronica “Rafy” Ortega-David commended BLDH for its achievement, highlighting the Provincial Government of La Union’s continuous support for healthcare innovations and quality service delivery. Dr. Mark Anthony S. Tomboc, BLDH Chief of Hospital, personally accepted the award.
BLDH’s recognition highlights the hospital's La Union PROBINSYANihan efforts by serving nutritious meals that meet nutrition standards, an initiative that directly benefits patients and staff while setting a benchmark for other health facilities in the region.
