Recognizing the act of heroism through blood donation, three Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) Councils in the Province of La Union received an award for garnering the title of Bloodiest SK Council under the Project Dara ti Agtutubo, Ranud nga Ayat (DARA) during an awarding ceremony held at the La Union Provincial Capitol, City of San Fernando, La Union.
The SK Federation of the City of San Fernando was recognized as the Bloodiest SK Council while SK Federation of Aringay baged 1st runner up and SK Federation of Santol placed 2nd runner up. The winners were awarded with cash awards worth of project, trophies and certificate of recognition.
They were awarded for constantly giving their full support to the project and recording the highest number of blood units collected. Special Awards were also given to the SK members who contributed to the success of the project.
Through this project, SK councils from different municipalities in the province has been conducting blood donation drive and encouraging the youth to participate in this campaign.
The event was graced by PRC LA UNION โ SFC CHAPTER Administrator Almira Abrazado together with the Board of Directors and Ex-Officio Member and SK Federation of La Union President Hon. Alyssa Kristine Sibuma.
This is a province wide joint project of the Provincial Government of La Union (PGLU) through the SK Federation of La Union in collaboration with the Philippine Red Cross La Union - City of San Fernando Chapter which aims to mobilize young adults in promoting voluntary blood donation to strengthen blood stability and sustainability.
The PGLU remains committed to support and intensify youth development programs and blood donation activities in the province to help those in need and save lives.
