RFC 4x4 Challenge Sets North Luzon Leg in LU; Gov. Rafy hosts Welcome Dinner

Fostering sportsmanship and good camaraderie, more than hundred participating off-roaders from 84 competing teams who are joining the first ever Rafy Rainforest Challenge (RFC): 4x4 Off-road convened in a welcome dinner hosted by Gov. Raphaelle Veronica โRafyโ Ortega-David on March 28, 2023 at Thunderbird Resort, City of San Fernando, La Union.
Together with Executive Assistant Kevin David and Department of Tourism Region 1 Regional Director Jeff Ortega, Gov. Rafy warmly welcomed the participants from all over the country. She likewise expressed her gratitude to RFC and its organizers for the opportunity to conduct their North Luzon leg in the province of La Union, just in time for the Ayat Fest 2023.
More than the adrenaline-filled competition itself, Gov. Rafy is more thrilled that terrains and rainforests of La Union will be featured and shall be tagged as ideal track for off-roading activities, hence, paving for more sports tourism activities in the province.
The Rafy RFC Challenge sets on March 29, 2023 until April 1, 2023 and shall be traversing the mountains of San Juan to Sudipen.

Raphaelle Veronica โRafyโ Ortega-David, has taken steps to ensure financial support for student-athletes by securing a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) with the La Union Schools Division Office (LUSDO) and Department of Education (DepEd) Region I, ensuring adequate funding for the event that will be held on March 10-15, 2025.
Residents from the Second District of La Union benefitted from the recently concluded Ako Bicol Partylist Medical and Dental Mission held on February 7, 2025, at the La Union Medical Center.
