The Provincial Statistics Committee (PSC) La Union chaired by the Provincial Planning and Development Coordinator EnP. Michaela Louise T. Delfinado, fourth quarter meeting for CY 2022 highlighted three major awards received in 2022 and other achievements. The meeting was conducted on November 28, 2022 at Dencio’s Bar and Grill Restaurant, Pagdalagan, City of San Fernando. La Union.

One of the highlights of the meeting was the recognition of the accomplishments of the PSC during the 33rd National Statistics Month (NSM) celebration on October 2022 wherein the PSC La Union received three major awards for CY 2022 namely 1st PSC Awards Champion in Region 1; 33rd NSM Best Province Implementer in Region 1; and Best LGU Advocate for Statistics of the 32nd NSM Celebration (National Award).

Also discussed during the meeting were 2023 Policy Agenda of PSC La Union that will guide them in the discharge of their functions to ensure that all statistical concerns are completely covered and properly addressed; Overview of Census of Agriculture and Fisheries; Updates on PhilSys Mobile Registration; Consumer Price Index Report in La Union for October 2022; and Updates on the Conduct of 2022 Community-Based Monitoring System Nationwide Rollout.

The meeting ended with a year-end assessment of the committee’s accomplishments and the targets for the ensuing year. Simple tokens from the Gov. Raphaelle Veronica β€œRafy” Ortega-David were given to the participants in appreciation of their efforts for the success of the PSC and to inspire the team to perform even better for CY 2023 and sustain the awards given to La Union in the succeeding years.

Present during the meeting were Dr. Danites E. TeΓ±ido, PSC Vice Chairperson and Chief Statistical Specialist of PSA La Union, and representatives of the PSC member agencies, and PSC Secretariats.

The PSC Commits to continue data and evidence-based governance in the province as a contribution to the vision to position La Union as the Heart of Agri-Tourism in Northern Luzon by 2025.
