50 Junior and Senior Highschool Students from Bauang, La Union partake in a Tree Surgery activity conducted by the Provincial Government of La Union (PGLU) on March 21, 2023, at the Peopleโ€™s Hall of the said municipality.

Aligned with the PGLUโ€™s #KalikasanNaman campaign on fostering ecological integrity and a clean and healthy environment, the said activity was done in celebration of the International Day of the Forest (IDF).

The one-day tree surgery activity participated in by the students from Sacred Heart High School aims to capacitate them on how to treat and preserve decaying woods and save deceased trees thru the said procedure.

Applying what they have learned, the students were able to save a mango tree with three cavities located in the western part of their town plaza. They were able to do excavation/removal of dead parts of the tree, application of disinfectant and varnish, mixing and filling up of cement to the cleaned cavities.

Joining the International Day of the Forest is the Provincial Government of La Unionโ€™s one way to call for #LaUnionPROBINSYAnihan in an effort to protect and save our environment for a cleaner and greener La Union.
