In celebration of National Women’s Month this March with the theme, “WE for Gender Equality and Inclusive Society”, the PGLU encourages its employees to wear purple attire every Wednesday to promote the advancement of women’s rights in the country and the province.

Gender Equality and Women Empowerment is Gov. Raphaelle Veronica “Rafy” Ortega-David’s advocacy, purpose, and mission to empower women and foster a safe environment for them. Through this, a channel of demonstrating the strength and determination of women and at the same time, recognizing and celebrating their contributions and achievements are emphasized.

Aside from wearing purple every Wednesday, the PGLU has also distributed Women and Human Rights posters and brochures in all of the City and Municipal Police Stations of La Union.

The PGLU encourages support for gender equality and inclusivity in the workplace, providing equal opportunities to all, promoting diversity across genders, and protecting one’s fundamental freedom, especially for women.
