The Overseas Workers Welfare Administration-Regional Office I (OWWA-RWOI) collaborates with the Provincial Government of La Union (PGLU) through the Public Employment Service Office (PESO) in conducting the two-day Balik Pinas! Balik Hanapbuhay! (BPBH) Entrepreneurship Traning and Orientation Seminar on March 18 and 28, 2022 at 4th Floor, La Union Provincial Administrative and Commercial Building, Quezon Avenue, City of San Fernando, La Union.

BPBH is a one-time livelihood assistance for Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) who are displaced or distressed members of OWWA. It aims to assist returning OFWs and their families to gain an alternative means of generating income through sustainable entrepreneurship that will support their family and improve their means of living.

OWWA-RO I Resource Speakers, Ms. Iries Sarmiento, Labor & Employment Officer III; Mr. Levy Kurt C. Dungan, Clerk II; Ms. Czarina Anne B. Roca, Family Welfare Officer, and Ms. Jennifer A. Dellosa, Family Welfare Officer, educated the 129 returning OFW-participants from the different municipalities in the Province of La Union on careful planning, selecting and starting up livelihood undertakings through self-employment. They also gave emphasis on the importance of saving money and basic management of business.

Ms. Charito C. Dator, Provincial PESO Manager/Migrants Desk Officer, briefly discussed the programs and services of PESO. The 2-day training orientation seminar was conducted in adherence with the minimum safety and health protocols implemented by the Inter-Agency Task Force.

OWWA-RWOI and PGLU are working hard to make reintegration programs and welfare services of the government more accessible to the returning OFWs of La Union.
