La Union Surfing Break returns with exciting month-long activities to be held in four different towns in the province starting October 7, 2022 through its Agoo Leg.

After two years hiatus due to the pandemic, the La Union Provincial Tourism Office (LUPTO) pushed for the comeback of the Association of Tourism Officers of the Philippines' Pearl Awards Hall of Famer and much-anticipated Surfing Break in the province with a fresh approach and festive activities as the province's tourism continues to open and recover.

For this year, instead of the usual three-day simultaneous activities held simultaneously in different legs, the La Union Surfing Break will be held on four consecutive weekends for the month of October in the towns of Agoo, Caba, Bacnotan and San Juan.

LUPTO together with the Municipal Tourism Offices of the mentioned towns deliberately agreed that this strategy will promote and boost their respective local tourism allowing economic recovery and income generation for local residents.

Signifying the kick-off of the La Union Surfing Break in Agoo, on October 7, 2022 a Surf Board was installed in the activity venue at Barangay San Isidro.

Executive Assistant Justo โ€œTitoโ€ Orros III representing Gov. Raphaelle Veronica "Rafy" Ortega-David, Mayor Frank Sibuma, Vice Mayor Antonio Eslao, 1st District Congressman Paolo Ortega, Board Member Gerard Ostrea, and other Agoo Officials graced the said opening.

A Food Fair joined by local entrepreneurs was also organized to offer the kaprobinsiaan and tourists food and refreshment during the event.

The opening night was hyped by the 10 pairs of fit and lovely men and women who competed for the title of Agoo Surf Beach Bodies 2022.

As part of the activities lined up for Agoo Surfing Break, the La Union Surf Club (LUSC) spearheaded the first Surfing Clinic. The said activity is among the highlight of the event wherein young locals and tourists actively participated and enjoyed the free surfing lessons rendered by the members of the LUSC. Surfing Clinic aims to empower locals and tourists through equipping them with proper techniques and skills in surfing.

To cap Agoo Surfing Break, the Agooeรฑans showcased their PROBINSYAnihan in maintaining the cleanliness of their coastal area through a Beach Clean-up activity. This is also their way of taking responsibility for their beautiful beaches as it is among their tourism assets.

La Union Surfing Breakโ€™s next leg will be in Caba this coming October 14-16 followed by Bacnotan on October 21-23 and in San Juan on October 28-31.

More than a series of jam-packed activities for La Union Surfing Break, thereโ€™s so much more to the La Union that tourists and locals should learn and explore, and that is how the Provincial Government of La Union, Local Government Units, and the La Union Kaprobinsiaan manifested #LaUnionPROBINSYAnihan in leveraging and exploring innovative strategies in promoting La Unionโ€™s beauty. All of these as La Union gears toward the Vision to become the Heart of Agri-Tourism in Northern Luzon by 2025.
