City of San Fernando, La Union – The Provincial Government of La Union (PGLU) led by Governor Francisco Emmanuel “Pacoy” R. Ortega III has made its weather information system data available to the general public.

The PGLU weather information system started disseminating real time and actual weather conditions in the province on August 2, 2017. Its instruments are located on top of the Provincial Capitol Building while its monitor is inside the Management Information Systems Division (MISD) office of the Office of the Provincial Governor (OPG) located at the 3rd floor of the same building. Every day, weather conditions of the province are downloaded and disseminated through the official Facebook Account of the PGLU ( and MISD ( ).

This will provide tourists in the province with credible, accurate and on time weather condition information in the province to make their visit more convenient.

The weather information system was provided to the Provincial Government of La Union in 2013 by the Weather Philippines Foundation. It is part of the Aboitiz Group of Companies’ Corporate Social Responsibility. The foundation facilitates critical and accurate weather forecasts to communities, with the hope of improving disaster preparedness and timely response to variable weather conditions. It is the country's premiere private weather information or content provider with around 1,000 automated weather stations installed across the Philippines. La Union alone has nine installations strategically scattered province wide (Governor’s Press Corps-La Union).
