We envision self-reliant and sufficient agri-fishery communities applying appropriate technology and market-driven linkages in sustainable development under ecologically balanced environment.


We – the OPAg Professionals – will empower our farmers, fishermen and entrepreneurs towards food security, productivity and profitability thru innovative extension service and enterprise development in partnership with public and private sectors.


Responsible in the formulation, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of agricultural plans, programs, projects and activities under the leadership of the Provincial Governor and the Sangguniang as provided for under the Local Government Code of 1991 and other laws, rules and regulations promulgated by proper authorities.


a. Food sufficiency and affordability for all commodities e.g. grains, high value commercial crops and fisheries.

b. Generation of more jobs through agri-business and increased utilization of marginal and idle lands in crops and fisheries.

c. Modernizing agriculture through improved facilities, farm equipment and machineries.

d. Initiate, promote and fund sourcing of livelihood projects to clientels towards enterprise development.

e. Conservation and protection of the environment and natural resources.

f. Empowerment of cooperatives and rural-based organizations and NGO’s e.g. farmers/fisher folks associations, irrigators associations, rural improvement clubs, 4-H club.

g. Partnership development and resource mobilization with LGU’s and NGOs for agricultural development.
